Get a closer look at Disney’s largest single-theme expansion Star Wars Land, which will open in both Disneyland and Walt Disney World in 2019. The model will be on display at D23 Expo which kicks off tomorrow.
DISNEY GIVES A FIRST PREVIEW OF STAR WARS LAND
The 50-foot-wide model shows off the never before seen planet. Though a few placards mention some details about objects and characters you’ll find on the planet–including musical instruments and an Ithorian–this display is all about the visuals. There’s a Resistance base on the left side of the land, as well as an X-wing and an A-wing. Over on the right side of the land, you’ll see a First Order flag and a parked TIE fighter. The E-ticket Millennium Falcon attraction is tucked away on the back right, while the other E-ticket attraction that puts guests in a fight between the First Order and Resistance is on the left of the land.
Various droids and alien characters will inhabit Star Wars Land to greet guests. Disney also has plans build a restaurant that will resemble Mos Eisley Cantina — hopefully without Greedo disturbing anyone’s meal.
Two Star Wars lands are currently under construction at the Disneyland in Anaheim and Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World in Orlando.
Star Wars lands will be the largest single-theme expansions (14 acres in total) in the history of the parks.
