Nickelodeon has released the first look at the highly-anticipated TV movie revival of the beloved ’90s Nicktoon Rocko’s Modern Life.
The plot of the cartoon finds Rocko and the gang returning to Earth after being stranded in space since 1996.
“Rocko has trouble accepting this 21st century modern life, while Heffer and Filburt embrace every aspect of new technology, social media and the endless diversity of food trucks. Rocko whole-heartedly believes that his nostalgia for the past can save him from the tortures of the modern world.”

Rocko’s Modern Life is beloved for its cheeky (if obvious) satire and the boatloads of innuendo and adult humor creator Joe Murray heaped onto the show.
The revival reunites original cast members Carlos Alazraqui (Rocko), Tom Kenny (Heffer), Doug Lawrence (Filbert) and Charlie Adler (Mr. Big Head and Mrs. Big Head) with featured series creator Joe Murray and Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling director Cosmo Segurson. Additional cast members include Linda Wallem, Jill Talley, Joe Murray and Steve Little.
Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling will air on Nickelodeon in 2018. The animated wallaby joins a number of NickToons make their return, with Hey Arnold!: The Jungle Movie set for a fall debut and another special featuring Invader Zim also in the works.
