Quentin Tarantino ninth movie will be set in 1969 and is reported be based around the Manson Family murders, but he has previously told reporters it will not be a biopic.
As Variety reports, the film is reported to be released on August 9, 2019 – the 50th anniversary of the LaBianca murders and one day ahead of the same anniversary of Sharon Tate’s murder.
Here is a quick synopsis of the film:
Set in Los Angeles in the summer of 1969, Tarantino’s upcoming movie, according to a source who read the script, focuses on a male TV actor who’s had one hit series and his looking for a way to get into the film business. His sidekick—who’s also his stunt double—is looking for the same thing. The horrific murder of Sharon Tate and four of her friends by Charles Manson’s cult of followers serves as a backdrop to the main story.
No actors have been confirmed to have been cast in the movie, but the director is said to be considering the likes of Tom Cruise, Leonardo DiCaprio, Margot Robbie and Brad Pitt.
