YouTube star and actress Stevie Ryan Dead at 33 in Apparent Suicide

YouTube star Stevie Ryan has died in an apparent suicide, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.

the 33-year-old passed away at a residence on July 1. The cause of death is listed as suicide by hanging.

The death comes just one day after Stevie Ryan posted a tribute to her grandfather who had recently passed away:
“The man of my dreams will now only be in my dreams,” she wrote to her Twitter followers. “I’ll miss you everyday, forever. I love you my Pa.”

Ryan was outspoken about her struggle with depression on social media, and created and co-hosted a podcast about depression called “Mentally Ch(ill)” with Kristen Carney.

Ryan’s big break came with her YouTube series Little Loca and accumulated millions of viewers with her celebrity impressions. She went on to star in her own sketch comedy series Stevie TV and she co-hosted the short-lived Sex with Brody talk show on E! with Brody Jenner and relationship therapist Dr. Mike Dow.

Her co-host Kristen Carney would react to the news on Twitter with the message, “RIP @StevieRyan The coolest girl I’ve ever known.”
